KLTV offers several workshops including a free Orientation and Equipment Certification Workshops to familiarize producers with proper equipment operation, KLTV policies and procedure. Equipment Certification Workshops must be completed before members are certified to use KLTV production equipment. KLTV may occasionally offer advanced workshops on studio production, if you are interested in taking an advanced workshop, please contact Corbin@kltv.org. Members who have not participated in a production using KLTV equipment for one calendar year must be re-certified before equipment privileges are restored. View the class schedule.

Basic Workshops

Orientation
Provides an introduction to community access television, the Do’s and Don’ts of access television, planning your production, tour of the KLTV facility.
Is required of all interested persons. (2 hour) Free.

Equipment Certification (3 classes)       
Series of three classes needed to use or check out equipment. Includes Basic Camcorder, Intro to Final Cut Pro and Studio Production.

Basic Camcorder        
Introductory camera technique using the JVC HM100. (3 hours)
Prerequisites: Attendance at Orientation Workshop
Fees: $10

Intro to Editing with Final Cut Pro (Mac)
Introduction to Apple's Final Cut Pro. (3 hours)
Prerequisites: Attendance at Orientation Workshop
Fees: $20

Studio Production
Basic Control Room equipment do’s and don’ts; basic VT5 set –up and titles;  basic equipment operation and safety. (3 hours)
Prerequisites: Attendance at Orientation Workshop

Intro to Newtek TriCaster
Field production, graphics, non-linear editing using the Newtek TriCaster. (3 hours)

Directing Production
Field production in the KLTV van using the VT5 and periferals.

Animation Production
Intro to Lightwave 3D Modeling and Animation, VT Special Effects & Chroma Key.
